I remember the day very well and mark its anniversary. it signifies to me the need for conscious men to be educating unconscious men about their fucking issues. unconscious men don't listen to women or if they hear a female voice protesting, call it a bitch.
what gets my goat is when some people say it wasn't an act of violence against women specifically, but the act of a deranged man against humanity (as if it can't be BOTH), when Lepine clearly stated it was an act of revenge on feminism and "feminists", and he purposefully went after women.
i wonder if the number of lynchings increased when the blacks won their freedom and became, well god..., "uppity" - "how dare you call yourself a human being" and don't forget, all you young women who think "feminism" is a dirty word; women weren't persons a hundred years ago in law, and feminism fought for your right to exist as a human being who can vote and work and earn income and wear pants etc etc. it sure wasn't men who "gave" it to you.
educate thyself if you think otherwise.
