I think the workshops are a fantastic idea, especially for the kids. Parents are more difficult because of what you said and also just because as adults it can be harder to see past what you've been trained to see. However, don't ya think that the people who come out to the workshops would be pretty open-minded about it and want their kids to learn to be critical of pop culture and maybe don't know how to do it themselves so would actually want to get something out of the workshop? I think so.
Sounds great.

I like the workshop idea a LOT. Can I come, even though I'm not a parent or a kid?

isn't it fun to change design? to play around with images and color and arrangements. maybe it's the equivalent of gardening on the computer. i find it relaxing and addictive (even though i'm such an amateur).
speaking of which i found a neat site which shows some design techniques for layout.
http://www.critiquemag.com/ takes a bit to download but worth the wait.

How about this for a poem:
I know there is a rainbow
For me to follow
To get beyond my sorrow
Thunder precedes the sunlight
So I'll be alright
If I can find that
Rainbow's end
And darlin', check out my url here for something else I want you to read. (they both happen to be by the same person)
Love you. You know that.
